The See A Room network is dedicated to providing vacationers traveling with their pet the best information possible, so they can make an informed decision about where to stay. We love our pets and have a complete list of hotels that accept guests that may be a bit too hairy and furry for other accommodations. We don't like to leave our pets at home either. The list of states above are linked to pages with cities that have the best pets welcome policies we can find. We hope this list of pet friendly hotels helps you plan a great vacation with your pets. Expert Travel Tips: Bring familiar sleeping materials (beds, pillows, blankets), toys, treats, etc. Animals can easily become very anxious with unfamiliar surroundings. Familiar sites and smells can mean a world of difference. Remember medications your pet will need, your veterinarians phone number, and their regular food. Anxiety may cause your pet to reject an unfamiliar food. We do not recommend ever leaving your pet unattended in your room. If you must leave your pet, bring a portable kennel. It will provide a more secure environment and reduce the amount of barking and crying they might do all day. Not to mention the trashed room you might come home to later if Fido has free run. This will also secure your pet deposit on the room. If it doesn't bother you too much, put up the "do not disturb" sign while you're away. You may not receive your maid service, but there are many reasons why this is a good idea. If you have brought your pet with you on vacation, then they must mean a lot to you, and you would not leave them alone with a stranger at home. Before you leave, find out where the pet friendly restaurants, attractions, parks, etc. are near your hotel. Make sure you always have your pet on a leash outside of your room, and they have a collar that has an ID tag on it with your cell phone number if possible. When you check in, find out where the designated dog walking areas are, but more importantly where they are not allowed. There is likely to be an area that is used more heavily. If you can walk your dog in a less traffic area, and it's ok with the hotel, use it. Your pets health can be more fragile during this time and they'll have better odds of staying healthy in an area that gets less traffic. Clean up anything that might be left by your pet that normally wouldn't be there. Some hotels have strict cleanliness policies beyond regular wear and tear on the room. Ask what the policies are and if they have a list, or anything in writing that makes their policies clear. Enjoy your pets company, give them a lot of extra attention, and you'll both have a great vacation. |
